Big Apple Shorts is the only book I have available now that's not in color. Still, it's one of my favorites! I remember experimenting quite a bit on how to tell stories with this book. Basically I wanted to see if I could tell a story without using the regular comic-book word bubbles. I also paid real attention to how the script and art worked together trying to make it a seamless combination of words and pictures.
Anyway, take a look at the first two pages from chapter 5 called, "Little Red Riding Hood" it's one of my favorite stories with what I like to think of an unusual ending.
